Directors Access Workshop is a fun and safe place to explore the craft of directing actors while expanding your director’s tool box and skill set. When a scene is not working, directors often make a misdiagnosis of where the problem emanates. This workshop is a great opportunity to discover how to correct that common mistake by learning all six points of the Access method. During the workshop you’ll learn to diagnose a performance problem accurately, so the correct method of adjustment can be implemented. You will also learn effective and efficient ways to communicate with actors which will save time on set and build confidence in your cast.
We will teach you how to evoke powerful performances to tell the story you envision. Participants will have the opportunity to practice the Access method by directing actors in three short movie scenes throughout the day. For participants, Jeremy will coach you through these rehearsals to help guide you to your vision.

A terrific workshop that provided hands on experience directing actors in scene work. Jeremy explained in great detail the various means to directing actors to deliver the performance the director needs. A brief background on directing was given, along with acting exercises and the varied ways to approach a scene. Jeremy also provided literature references for outside reading. Without a doubt, this is a beneficial workshop for aspiring directors and screenwriters wishing to expand their scope of understanding. The atmosphere of the workshop was relaxed, supportive and communal. Great, great experience.
