Description

FluxWork Studio, established in 2008 by Elizabeth Thompson, is a communal jewelry studio located in Bushwick Brooklyn. More than just a workspace the studio has become a community where artists share space and ideas.

FluxWork is a productive and safe shared work space for jewelers located in a bustling creative area full of artists and cool restaurants and bars. The studio is a 8 minute walk from both the L train at Morgan or Montrose Ave and the JMZ at Flushing. FluxWork is easily accessible from Brooklyn, Manhattan and Long Island.

The space itself is 1,000+ square feet with a giant, south facing windows and wonderful natural light throughout the day. All members have access to personal bench space with shared tools and wireless internet.

Had a wonderful time with Megan! Learned a lot about working with metals, all the different steps that go into creating a metal piece, and was super satisfied with the ring I ended up making. Highly recommended for beginners looking to make a custom piece of jewelry and learn about the craft at the same time.

A great workshop — introduced the basic skills needed to create rings. Carolyn was a fun, knowledgeable, and patient instructor. Finished three silver rings that I'll wear everyday :)
