What you'll learn in this beer brewing class:

Our intro classes are designed for the absolute novice brewer. They are a fantastic experience for anyone looking to develop a deeper understanding of beer, its ingredients, and the process by which it’s made in a friendly and savvy environment.

We teach in a concentrated 2 to 3 hour workshop format that focuses on a hands-on learning experience. Our teaching style is casual while also presenting a wealth of information. It is designed to provide our students the confidence, knowledge, and experience needed to become proficient home brewers and cultivated beer drinkers.

You will learn all the basics to get you up and running while brewing a batch of beer. You’ll learn about extract brewing, malts, grains, yeasts and how to avoid or troubleshoot the most common problems. All reference materials will be provided as well as a homebrew sample for tasting.

Q&A

Q: Is this class hands on?

A: Yes, students brew a 5-gallon batch of beer in the class so they get to see the whole process. Students learn all about the ingredients in beer (and even get to taste some) and it is a very informative class. Unfortunately, beer takes roughly 2 weeks to ferment so students won't be able to take beer home.
We don’t issue refunds, but if you need to reschedule your class for any reason, you can do so with 2 weeks or more advance notice. If you find yourself missing the deadline, try asking around and see if a friend can take your spot. You’ll get the refund and fill a perfectly good spot. Everybody wins!

Very fun class with a knowledgeable instructor. We tried some of the beers other classes had made and they tasted great! Excited to try my own batch!

Excellent and clear lecture with hands-on elements and plenty of supporting material for follow-up self-study and experimentation that will surely help take the next steps with the hobby.

Great class, very interesting. I just wished the course gives more comparisons with what professional brewers do too. But for the rest, very good.
