Learning any new skill presents challenges. Neon tube bending is among the most challenging and dexterous crafts one can engage in, and as a novice, the learning curve is steep. Good habits developed in the early stages of making neon tubes can help ameliorate some of the frustrations encountered. This class is designed as a guide to good habits, offering tips, tricks, and skills to advance you in your neon tube bending projects. All levels welcome.
Preparation for Classes
Students should bring notebooks to each class for sketching steps to techniques, recording inspiration, and planning class projects. Students wishing to use specific tools or materials not supplied in class are responsible for obtaining these items themselves.
Proper Studio Attire
For your safety, protective eyewear must be worn at all times in all areas of the UrbanGlass Studio. We will provide appropriate eyewear for your use. Appropriate work clothes are also required. Flammable or synthetic fabrics, sandals and open-toe shoes are not allowed. Long hair should be tied back.
