Digital Photo Live In-the-Field Workshop @ Chrystie & Rivington Intersection
Back in the 19th century, SoHo was not much more than farmland and marsh. Soon after came sweat-houses, factories, and an occasional brothel. But, all in all, the district was not the stylish community that we know today. Meet the DPA instructor on the east side at Rivington and Christie to begin a photographic journey that will be peppered with environmental portraiture, architectural photography, and details to reflect the charm and variety of this world-class destination.
Whether it’s the fashionable Europeans or the down-and-outters, they all project a powerful image that you can capture, with your camera. The DPA Instructor will share tips and techniques on bringing out the essence of your subject matter.
There will be advice on creating a comfortable energy to bring out the best in a spontaneous model shoot with a perfect stranger, who suddenly becomes willing to pose, as well as panning techniques to capture a fleeting scene that is passing you by.
Each Composition in the Field class begins with a talk with one of our experienced instructors, and then you and your fellow students take a stroll through one of a variety of photogenic locales (in any of the 20+ cities the DPA encapsulates). There is street photography, magnificent interiors, farmers markets, zoos, landscapes, and more, photos of which are included within. These photos are a mix of student and instructor images in many different venues and cities across the United States and Canada.
You will have fun in the three hour session, learn to shoot strategically, get more interesting photos of the event, and walk away with a foundation to improve your photographs in the future, whether you’re traveling, or at a birthday party and everywhere in between.
Please note – if a class must be canceled due to weather or other circumstances beyond our control we will be happy to work with you to reschedule.
