Learn how to recreate your favorite garments and make them in different fabrics and prints with the Copy Your Clothes: Pattern Making workshop at The New York Sewing Center. Discover how to make sewing patterns, choose appropriate fabrics, and master stitches and finishing techniques. Prerequisite: Sewing 101 or basic sewing skills.
Have you ever wanted to re-create that favorite black dress or that top you bought 5 years ago and wish that you would have bought two? Well, now's your chance to learn how to re-create that special garment and make it in as many fabrics and prints as you'd like!
During the workshop you will learn:
Projects: Pattern for the garment you’d like to copy, muslin prototype for fit and the final project. Additional sewing and finishing may be needed after class and can be done in our Sewing 102 class. One complimentary class included.
*Homework is necessary outside of each class in some cases depending on the project difficulty.
Supplies and Fabric: Bring your own dress, skirt, shorts, pants or top to copy, pattern paper and muslin.
Prerequisites: Sewing 101 or basic sewing skills
