Beginner - Flight and Flow

Oriental style/Classical Egyptian will be presented through combinations and technique, with an emphasis on basic travel steps, turns, and undulations/figure 8's. Ethereal movements, such as light, airy, delicate, and dreamy qualities will be explored. Basic mechanics and sequences of traveling steps, and turns, will be taught. 

We will integrate basic traveling footwork with isolations. Dancers will play with suspension, one of the vital qualities of movement in dance, offering to ignite the ethereal characteristic inherent to Oriental style, while maintaining the primal earthy quality that sustains and anchors us. 

Class intention is taught with a nurturing attention to detail, and an emphasis on internalizing the music/movements. Music selections will include Classical Egyptian, Turkish, and Contemporary Oriental Fusion.
