Emilie Shapiro

Teaches at Emilie Shapiro Contemporary Metals

Emilie Shapiro is jewelry designer, teacher and author living in New York City. Emilie received her B.F.A. in Art + Design with a concentration in jewelry and metalsmithing from Syracuse University. She also studied at Alchimia, a contemporary school of jewelry in Florence, Italy. Before launching her own jewelry line, Emilie Shapiro Contemporary Metals – Emilie worked as the Production Manager at Pamela Love and Allforthemountain. Emilie's work is inspired by textures in nature; Rough gemstones are incorporated into her work as a celebration of the beauty of natural imperfection. Emilie is the author of "How to Create Your Own Jewelry Line" (2016) and "Creative Wax Carving" (2017) published by Lark Books, Sterling Publishing.
