Jaeyong Song

Teaches at The Korea Society

Jaeyong Song is Professor of Strategy and International Management. He received his Ph.D. at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Before joining SNU, he was a professor of strategy at Columbia Business School and Yonsei University. He won the best dissertation Award from the Academy of Management and the European International Business Association respectively. He also won the Chazen Teaching Innovation Award at Columbia Business School and the best performing professor award from Yonsei University. He won the SNU Teaching Award. He also received the best paper award from the Korean Academic Association of Business Administration, the Korean Academy of Management, the Korean Academy of International Business, and the Korean Association of Small Businesses.

His research has appeared in such top-tier journals as Management Science, Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, the Journal of Economics & Management Strategy, the Journal of Management, the Journal of International Business Studies, and Research Policy. His article was also published in the Harvard Business Review. He also serves as an editorial board member of the Journal of International Business Studies, Long Range Planning, and Global Strategy Journal respectively. His current research interests cover global strategy, innovation strategy, competitive strategy in the knowledge-based and networked economy, and diversification strategy and corporate governance of business groups.
