Jamie Cunneen

Teaches at Stepping Out Studios

James "Jamie" Cuneen and his partner, Linda Gammon, struck up a dance partnership in 1990 that has continued to this day. Jamie and Linda have competed in both American smooth style and international standard ballroom dancing. Together they won or placed in most major competitions in the country, becoming six-time United States Dancesport Championship Rising Star Finalists in International Standard and American Smooth, as well as USDC Open Professional Semi-finalists. Having studied with numerous world champions and world finalists, Jamie and Linda have extensive dance training in many dance styles, with a specialty in ballroom. Early in his widely varied dance career, Jamie became highly regarded as a tap dance performer and choreographer, and formed a tap dance company. One of Jamie's greatest accomplishments as a dancer and teacher is his dedication to his students, which resulted a few years ago in his winning the United States Open Standard Pro-Am Championships, a recognition which very few teachers achieve in their lifetime. Jamie devotes his time to teaching, coaching, competing and performing both with his partner, Linda, and with his students. Beginners, social dancers, wedding couples, or high level competitive ballroom dancers feel comfortable and gain a sense of accomplishment as well as enjoyment with an experienced instructor of the caliber of Jamie.
