Jenie Song

Teaches at Music Beans

A performing pianist, singer and educator, Jenie Song’s passions are music and children. With 12 years of teaching experience, Jenie is dedicated to teaching music by using diverse and developmental approaches, specializing in piano, choral and early childhood music instruction. She taught at Miami Choral Academy, a program committed to providing a conservatory education for children in under-served communities. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Piano Performance and Piano Pedagogy Certificate from Carnegie Mellon University and her Master of Music in Music Education from the University of Miami Frost School of Music. She received a Kodály Level I Certificate and a license in Musikgarten. Jenie was the winner of the Steinway Society of Western Pennsylvania piano competition in 2001. As a singer and accompanist, she performed, toured and recorded with The Choral Project in San Jose, California in 2002-06. She sang withVocal Flight, a 6-member vocal jazz ensemble that won Downbeat magazine’s 2008 “Outstanding Performance” for their album Make the Move. Currently, Jenie sings with Cantori New York under the direction of Mark Shapiro.
