Moiya McTier

Moiya grew up in a Pennsylvania coal mining town before being accepted to Harvard University, where she became the school's first ever student to study both astrophysics and folklore & mythology. After graduating, she decided to pursue her PhD in astronomy at Columbia University, but she hasn't forgotten her folklore roots. She's passionate about both science communication and coherent storytelling.

She's written a science fiction novel, given more than 100 talks about science and equity & inclusion, been interviewed on television and podcasts, and designed an exhibit for the New York Hall of Science.
