What you'll learn in this craft class:
In this introductory workshop we will learn the foundation for all natural soap-making techniques.
The material covered will include:
Note: A $25 materials fee will be paid to the instructor for materials (including soap, base and essential oils, herbs, a travel box, supplies, and a detailed instructional cold process soap-making DVD). You will receive a certificate of completion from the Soap Making School, Vancouver, Canada. This workshop is part of a 12-day certification program.
Note: This course is a requirement for the part II, Hot Press Soapmaking workshop.
The material covered will include:
- organic cold-process soapmaking and creative designs using swirls and natural colours;
- how to make soaps beneficial to skin and to control/ alleviate such conditions as acne, psoriasis, eczema, etc; how to use organic base and carrier oils, butters, and essential oils;
- working with natural exfoliants and herbs (such as Dead Sea salt, zeolite, sea kelp, poppy seeds, oatmeal, etc.); natural soap colorants (charcoal, cocoa, turmeric, etc.); curing and packaging soaps; and more.

- Refunds are available minus a processing fee* if you cancel up to 11 business days prior to the first day of the program.
- Course credits are available, minus a processing fee* if you cancel up to 3 business days prior to the first day of the program.
*The processing fee for cancellation is $15 for programs costing less than $250, and $35 for programs costing $250 and up.
No refunds or credits will be given for cancellations less than 3 business days prior to the first day of a program, or if a student does not attend a program. The estimated refund processing time is two to three weeks.
