Classical Renaissance Oil Painting

In this hands-on class, master artist Francesco Santoro will teach us authentic classical painting techniques from the golden era of Renaissance art. We will engage in many drawing and painting exercises to explore the fundamentals of color, composition and design. Maestro Santoro will share his insights about how to master the “visual vocabulary” of shape, color, tone, timbre, mass, volume, line, sign and rhythm in the same spirit as a Renaissance master tutored his apprentices. He will guide us through each step as we make initial drawings, transfer our drawings to the canvas, mix colors and produce our own oil paintings.
