Irene Pease

Teaches at Brooklyn Brainery

She has a bachelors degree in Physics from the University of Arizona, and has worked as a professional amateur astronomer, astrophysics educator, telescope operator, and Mad Scientist. In addition to astronomizing around Brooklyn, Irene teaches physics courses at York College and climbs fake rocks. As Brooklyn’s Friendly Neighborhood Astronomer, she enjoys sharing views through her telescope to passersby on busy sidewalks, and under darker skies in Prospect Park.
